Words of Inspiration and Motivation. Wk4Blog Assignment

"Do it well, finish it properly, and move on"-Eunice Kennedy Shriver

"Let me win, but if I cannot win let me be brave in the attempt"-Eunice Kennedy Shriver

"Adults find there voice when working with children"-Marcy Whitebook.Ph.D

I had the great privilege to see Dr. Becky Bailey in person at the NCaeyc conference in Raleigh and this is one of the clips from that presentation. Watch the entire thing. It is describing the "I love you rituals and the connections that we and everyone can make with children everyday.

  1. I love the first quote!!! I am going to have to remember that one so I can apply it on those rough days when i seem to hold on to some things too long.

  3. Your quotes are truly inspiring as well as the video. Thank you for posting that wonderful video which I will introduce to my other coworkers to help us build that bond with the children and of course the parents. Your first quote reminds me of myself, I always want to do what I do right the first time and keep going to the next task. I learn that if other people around you are not doing their job right, is your responsibility to make sure that you are doing what is right. The second quote is almost what I ask God everyday (I am not talking about religion, this is my personal belief), I ask him to be a better person, to be able to change a person life for good and to help me accept what I can’t change and find a better way to continue with my life.

  4. Jo,
I think Becky Bailey is great. She has so many tools to help young children foster in school and at home. I have also had an opportunity to see her in action. I have noticed when an educator uses her tools properly; children react in a calmer manner. All of the things she teaches in person, and on her DVD, are great ways to calm and mange adults as well as children. This is a great learning video; I love this post. You did a great Job!

  7. Cute!!! I always believed that it takes a special person to be a teacher because one must be able to become a character and interact with the young children. A good teacher must make learning fun. Like one of the researchers said "every teacher must learn their voice".
