Week 2 Favorite Early Childhood Quote

"It takes a village to raise a child."

This quote or African Proverb was also used for the title of a book by Hillary Clinton in 1996(Clinton, 1996.) Which was during the time that I was just getting started in Early Childhood.
I like this quote because I truly believe that in relating it to children, it takes so many to raise a child, that so may influences go into the development of the "whole" child.

Clinton, H. (1996). It takes a village:And Other Lessons children Teach us. New York: Simon and Schuster.

  1. This quote is so true. There are so many influences on children today. We really have to work to teach parents that they have to be teachers too and that kids don't learn everything at school.

  2. I love this quote because it does take a village to raise a child. The parents, relatives, the community, and the teachers play a major role in the positive outcome of each child.
